Scooters

I know some of you have scooters here. So what is a good one, a dependable one. I a bigger guy, so that is important too I assume.

How does it work with insurance?

I am sick of this driving.

I've been thinking about this for a while. I've been looking at the Genuine Scooter Company website for the last couple of weeks. The Stella looks cool, but there aren't any dealers anywhere near where I live to check it out.

Scooters are the ultimate lifehack, really.

They are great in cities and you can usually get away with crazy parking (some tricks apply for this of course) but I've never been happier with a mode of transit.

Stella is a great bike, they're made by LML in the old Vespa plants in India. They are almost identical to a 1980 Vespa P save that you have an electronic ignition and you don't have to pre-mix 2stroke oil and gas. It has a reservoir that you can dump 2stroke oil into. Yay!

Scooter laws depend on location. In my state, Rhode Island calls anything under 50cc's a moped and you can use a car drivers' license to operate it. My first scoot was in that category.

My Stella is a 150cc and requires a motorcycle license.

Insurance on either case is a snap, full coverage on my scoots averages a couple hundred bucks for the year.

You'll not stop with one scooter though.

And check out scooterati.org if you want to talk scooters though I'm having a hard time getting it going ;)
