Zen Alarm Clock
jason.mcbrayer | Feb 16 2006
Questions about waking up on time seem to come up in Life Hacks circles pretty often. I've wanted to try one of those "Zen Alarm Clocks" that wakes you up with a series of chimes of increasing frequencies, but they're quite expensive, so I made a virtual one. It's a sound file that you can either schedule your computer to play (if you can hear it from bed), or put on a CD or tape for use in a clock radio or whatever. Share and enjoy, and give me feedback if you'd like. 6 Comments

almost there!Submitted by a11en on March 15, 2006 - 3:09pm.
Woo hoo.. I'm excited. I've almost got the Zen-Alarm clock working on osX. It's right now an Applescript, but I'm looking into an AppleScript Studio application... we'll see. :) But, for now, the script is running a sound file at the right intervals. Things I want to do are enable a wake-up event in the system somehow, as well as enable a volume setting and a drag'n'drop sound file... but that might be pie in the sky... for now I'm happy with a little script... I'm working on having a "quit" button but, that's taking a while too.. Applescript has changed a lot since the old Os days!! :) If anyone has a good resource for AppleScript Studio information and tutorials etc., that'd be wondeful to hear about! I'll post here when I get the little ZenAlarmClock script working properly. [Never ending 5-minute bells with a quit-button is my minimal requirement in the terminal cycle.] Excited!! » POSTED IN:
