Exercise Life Hack?
wilburwatkins | Dec 19 2005
Hey all! I'm looking for an effective workout life-hack that's 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week that includes weightlifting and aerobics. I don't need to be "ripped" -- just want some basic fitness. I'm looking for the most bang for the time spent. (Exercises that use multiple muscle groups, etc.) Something between the unrealistic get fit for 5 minutes a day group and people who can spend two hours a day at the gym. I'm looking for some sedentary computer type who researched this and solved this problem. Anybody out there done this? Want to share your workout? Thanks! 31 Comments

Instead of thinking of exercise...Submitted by sabreuse on December 20, 2005 - 4:57pm.
Instead of thinking of exercise as something you ought to do (like, say, flossing, or eating 5-9 servings of vegetables), look for an activity that you'll do because you love it. Take up hiking because you can't wait to get out in the woods after being cooped up in a cube all day; do yoga if it centers your mind; join a rugby team for the camaraderie, the beer, and the occasional chance to rip some dude's ear off with your teeth. The exercise just happens in the course of doing what you want to do, and if you really fall in love with your activity, the very boring conditioning stuff like running and weights gets a lot more palatable -- I can't bear to go to the gym for its own sake, but if you tell me it'll improve my fencing, I'm there. » POSTED IN:
