You need to take Action X when a certain invoice arrives. You can't use a tickler or an alarm reminder because you don't know the date upon which the invoice will arrive. You could put a reminder in a Holding Until... device, but you have lots of similar pending actions. Daily review of Holding Until is time-consuming. What's the best way to deal with this? dp 5 Comments

Thereotically, all the @waiting tasks (or 'holding until') are things I note and review during the weekly review. So, in your case, I would put an action in the relevant project list noting what to do when the invoice arrived (or just put 'receive invoice @waiting'). This might mean that a few days lag if the invoice comes in and I forget that I'm supposed to do something with it. But not a severe lag. And the odd thing is, that if I write it down and allow myself to forget, I remember. » POSTED IN:
