Collecting ideas whilst walking

I walk to and from work everyday, its about a 40 minute journey. Especially on the way home, I will be thinking about one or more problems/projects at work, and at the moment this doesn't get collected. I can't stop to write things down as I'd never get home, I'm thinking continuously. I struggle to remember it all to write down when I get there. Currently my system is to assume that I will remember it all again at another point hopefully in the near future. Can anyone suggest a solution? I thought about a little dictating machine but I'm walking through the city centre and I don't want to look stupid. 17 Comments

I "second" LD that affects my memory ('storage' in the wikipedia article), so when I get a good idea I have to capture it immediately. I can then download my voice notes directly to my desktop in a playable, albeit extremely obscure, format. From there you can import the file to Journler, Yojimbo, etc. Maybe I'm over-estimating my amount of good ideas in buying a 1 GB memory card for it :p » POSTED IN:
