Carry Planner All the Time??

One of the tenets I thought David Allen put forward was to carry what ever you used as your planner (notebook or PDA) at all times. I can see the value of capturing something that comes to me at dinner, but using either of these mechanisms seems a bit much. What sort of balance do you strike?

Just a quick update. I'm using the basic Levenger pocket briefcase for the past few weeks and I love it. My cards don't get all crudded up and frayed like they do with a clip-based GTD system. If you don't mind paying $38 for the equivalant of what you can get for 20 cents with a clip, it is very nice.

I recommend it.
