Waiting for? Next Action? Agenda?

I am still a bit confused to differentiate these: a) Rodrigues needs to call Zeni at Frango Natto to follow up on the proposal. Rodrigues is already aware of this, I informed him of this, so this is under @Waiting for b) Rodrigues needs to write a Thank You letter to Jotude. Rodrigues IS NOT aware of this, so this is under @Agendas c) I need to speak with Rodrigues regarding monies we are to receive for a sponsorship. Rodrigues informed me on Friday that he was going to see them, but I have not spoken to him since. WHAT IS THIS CLASSIFIED AS? 7 Comments

What is getting me messed up is the step before delegating it to someone, then following up. Here, I believe, is the general workflow for delegated tasks: If you need to delegate something to someone, then either 1) call them right away or 2) create an action on your @phone or @email lists or 3) put the item on your @agendas list. (Which of these you choose depends on urgency, tools available, scheduled meetings, etc.) Once you've delegated the action, put the item on your waiting list (along with the date it was delegated). Review the waiting list at least once a day. When you review the waiting list, see if there's any stuff you need to follow up on - i.e., any reminders you need to send out. If so, then either contact the individual right away or put a reminder to contact them on one of your action lists. When they've completed the task and gotten back to you, check the item off of your waiting list and consider whether there is a follow up action you need to do or delegate. » POSTED IN:
