Waiting for -- what level list?
bengoshisan | May 22 2007
Dear All, I was thinking about "waiting for" items. Is that a "project level" or a "NA level" list? The problem occurred to me when processing emails I send -- I am waiting for an answer, which could come in 30 seconds, if the partner is on-line, and could come in two days or a week, if they are on holiday. Now, in the first case, it is enough to jot an item to the waiting for section of my NA lists, while in the latter, it is rather well placed among a list in projects. Or, for that matter, it could go to my diary. What do you think? (And, of course, I mean that I don't know when the answer would come. 11 Comments

I also treat @waiting items...Submitted by Stew on May 22, 2007 - 6:22pm.
I also treat @waiting items as NAs. Some items are taken off the @waiting list on the same day, while others may linger for days or weeks. During one of my mini reviews or at my weekly review, I evaluate each item and determine whether it needs a follow up. If I decide to follow up, I move the item to an agenda or place it in my calendar if the person is out of town. I also could add the item to my tickler, but I rarely use the tickler for follow ups (Although, Berko, I can see how your usage would work really well.) I like to keep my waiting items in a format that is accessible at any time in case I need to give an update. This has been very successful for me, but YMMV. Hope this helps! » POSTED IN:
