how vulnerable is your GTD system?

I have changed my gtd system apps a few times now. I have gone from web based to offline apps, Mac only apps to cross plattform and one of the things that always worries me is the vulnerability of the system.
This means what happens if the house is set on fire or the hard drive dies, what if you are on a mac only system and then dont have a mac for some time, what if the app you use ends being developed? These kind of things.

I was wondering what kind of systems you have chosen considering these factors and why.

What About the File System for Long-Term Reliability?

Vulnerability is something I've spent a lot of time thinking about and is the basis behind my file-system-oriented approach to GTD on the Mac. It may not be the total solution but I believe the file system is a good way to start thinking about reliability for one's GTD workflow.

You can read more here about the philosophy behind this file-system approach here:

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
