GTD - Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

Thinking about GTD and having one inbox for everything (or as little inboxes as possible), this saying comes to mind - Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket.

For example:

Gmail - Google Rss Reader - GCalendar - Google search engine - Writley, Notebook and other. It is great to have all in one single place and interact with it plus the mobility of this and access everytwhere, but what about these 2:

Privacy - Google knows everything about you.
Security - say you lose your password one day or someone discovers your password. Then all is gone.

What do you think ?

Privacy and security are certainly...

Privacy and security are certainly valid concerns, but aren't they more of an argument against keeping everything online than keeping everything in one place? For me, keeping everything in one place is one of the most important things I learned from GTD.

Which leads me neatly to why I just joined the forum, and relates to the egg basket problem.
Some of my GTD projects are related to emigrating / finding other employment. My first major hurdle is the "get it all in one place" ethic. I would use MonkeyGTD or some other wiki method, but I don't want to be taking my personal life plans to the workplace where they may get browsed. But.... If I have a new idea about my personal life plans at work, I don't have a method to capture it...

How do people manage the work vs personal life balance? Do people have 2 baskets?

(Yeah ok... point me at the thread I should have read already! But any help, much appreciated!)
