My wife and I need to file and store the various items that come into our life through our kids that we want to save such as class photos, report cards, drawings, papers, etc. Anyone have a good system for that sort of thing?

I like the journaling idea. My wife and I wonder now what we did before we had a child since all of our time revolves around him so what did we do with our time before?
I started a few years ago keeping track of everything I do in my calendar (used MS outlook until I hit the 2G limit) so I can look back a few years and see what I did with my life, there are times when I got lazy and didn't fill I too much but for the most part I do pretty well. i'm still perfecting my system, right now I'm just making calendar entries because I'm found that pretty much all PIM type of apps mimic paper planners which isn't the best layout for tracking your life. I didn't like having to switch to different views to see todo's meetings, journal entries, etc I'd like to see everything in one place so I kind of just keep everything on the calender at the momnet.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
