To Be Read
pooks | Nov 20 2006
I have discovered that I am happiest and most likely to use any system when it is either visible or within reach or both. If it requires me to get up from my desk/chair, I'm more likely to lay it on the floor beside me until I'm ready to move (ha!) or lay it on my desk until I'm ready to move (ha-ha!). So as I examine my desk and environs, one thing I'm noticing is the amount of things that I have that are TBR (to be read) that are somewhat time sensitive, rather than just my books that are waiting for me to have time or the right mood to dig in. Some of these things are rather bulky (scripts) and others are just magazines or newsletters that have info I need to see or act on, along with typical stuff. Often too much for an in-basket. How do you handle this kind of thing? And any tricks for actually getting around to reading it? Pooks 6 Comments

I didn't do the graphic. Hawk did it in Mathlab or Mathematica. I make a note on my NextAction or Project card. Since I have my junk on cards I just notate it there. I was using Tracks for a while and go back and forth but I use a lot of metadata in any task tracking system I use. So like, "Mail letter to Mandy (Portable File)" » POSTED IN:
