Religious Backgrounds
Brad Blackman | Sep 6 2006
After reading the GTD 'cult' thread, I thought I'd ask what kind of religious or philosophical backgrounds everyone comes from. It may be too sensitive a topic (just like at parties, you shouldn't talk about religion or politics), but it'd be interesting to see where people are coming from. Obviously some see a Buddhist influence in GTD, and others may see something else? Or others (like myself) come from a different background and wouldn't know the difference. Again, I know it's a pretty big can of worms, but I think the people around here are thoughtful enough to take everything in stride. There are quite a few thinkers here. 42 Comments

Coming late to the cocktail...Submitted by pooks on November 1, 2006 - 8:16pm.
Coming late to the cocktail party (and I can drink them, too!) but I come from a line of Baptist preachers/evangelists so long I go all the way back to the English reformation and the Roundheads. (Not that I'm happy about that, actually.) But my family became Methodist and I was raised that way. Then I was led to the Episcopal Church where I get to have smells and bells (incense, kneeling, even crossing myself if I want to) which I love, and liturgy that makes me feel connected to the past for centuries and centuries -- yet moderate theology along the lines that Carla described. Jedediah Burroughs is probably spinning in his grave! So, who has the cocktails, anyway? » POSTED IN:
