Waiting For's & Agenda's

I have a question that has bugged me for quite some time. As background, please know that I use Omni/Kinkless/ICal the way Merlin hooked it up. I have about 12 contexts & agenda-calendar's in ICal that contain my GTD lists. What I don't know is how to keep my Waiting 4's associated with their original agenda.

For example, if I have a meeting with John and he is supposed to get back to me re: such & who, my current methodology is to re-direct that todo from John's agenda to Waiting For. Obviously, the problem here is that, that-which-I'm-waiting for is no longer associated with John, but is now in a list of other waiting fo's.

How do you, fellow posters, handle this conundrum?

Thanks,

Nick

Where My Prob Is...

I want to thank you for your well thought out insights. It sounds like you have a good grasp of GTD. I see that your sprinkling your advice rather liberally in the posts...

"Write it down it two places." Why didn't I think of that? So simple.

But tell me, why do you suggest writing it in two places? What are the advantages? Wouldn't one suffice? Which one?

Oh wait, I know why I don't want it in two places. Hey it's right here in a prior post. I was using "Nicky" as an example of a Context/Agenda:

"My goal is to have All-Things-Nicky that are moving parts on the Nicky list, so that when I have a face to face or I'm on the phone, it's right there in front of me, in one place. I don't find that it helps the conversation much to have to hunt through my Waiting 4 list to find the 1, 2, 3 or more things I'm waiting for from Nicky. It's inefficient and it's distracting to see all of those other items that have nothing to do w/my conversation w/Nicky."

You know, it might be better if you read the posts before commenting ...

Cranking
