GTD - so far, falling off the wagon & dilemmas dilemmas...
direwolf | Jul 30 2006
I know, unwieldy subject title but it encapsulates where I am now. Some of GTD is working well for me, some isn't [I should probably say, *I'm* not working well] but I've only known about it for a few months so I guess I'm still at the 'tweak & bed in' phase. What's working; email - both work & home email clients now have @Action, @Reference & @Waiting folders which I put to good use. home inbox - I've now got an established physical inbox for stuff that previously used to spread out around the place [bills, CDs for re-filing etc] What's not working; weekly review - keep forgetting to do it [!] collection tools / NA lists - went for the analogue 3x5 card approach but whilst they hold everything, they look a bit bad [handwriting isn't the best] and I tend to not carry them with me anymore [like to travel light]. So, there I am at the moment. Maybe I should reconsider using some sort of PDA for collection/diary but I really wanted to go for something that didn't crash / need recharging / need re-synching but we'll see. Any thoughts / encouragement appreciated! Thanks. 18 Comments

further update . diary has now...Submitted by direwolf on July 31, 2006 - 12:58pm.
further update [hang on, this isn't meant to be a *blog* is it ?!]. diary has now been modded [w/custom index tabs] & index cards dispensed of after all info transferred. and i've pencilled in 'weekly review' every monday for the rest of the year. immediately, it physically feels better to me. one thing to pick up, everything in there, nothing to drop, lose, scatter or generally flummox about with. it feels *useable*. next thing, maybe invest in some decent pens. my handwriting is fair to middling but suffers badly when i'm battling against cheap biros. fine ink/gel pens aren't bad but my writing is also very small, which means they often blur into illegibility. fountain pen ? haven't used one for over 20 years so i'm not sure about that! might help. » POSTED IN:
