GTD - so far, falling off the wagon & dilemmas dilemmas...
direwolf | Jul 30 2006
I know, unwieldy subject title but it encapsulates where I am now. Some of GTD is working well for me, some isn't [I should probably say, *I'm* not working well] but I've only known about it for a few months so I guess I'm still at the 'tweak & bed in' phase. What's working; email - both work & home email clients now have @Action, @Reference & @Waiting folders which I put to good use. home inbox - I've now got an established physical inbox for stuff that previously used to spread out around the place [bills, CDs for re-filing etc] What's not working; weekly review - keep forgetting to do it [!] collection tools / NA lists - went for the analogue 3x5 card approach but whilst they hold everything, they look a bit bad [handwriting isn't the best] and I tend to not carry them with me anymore [like to travel light]. So, there I am at the moment. Maybe I should reconsider using some sort of PDA for collection/diary but I really wanted to go for something that didn't crash / need recharging / need re-synching but we'll see. Any thoughts / encouragement appreciated! Thanks. 18 Comments

Couple of ideas. For collection:...Submitted by mamster on July 30, 2006 - 8:10am.
Couple of ideas. For collection: Do you carry a cell phone? If so, you could set up a voice-to-email account for collecting little things throughout the day. This is what I do; I'm bad at carrying paper, too. I use k7.net, but there are others. For the weekly review reminder, what are you using for your calendar? Could you just pencil it in there? Or make a recurring email or SMS reminder using Backpackit.com or similar? Best of luck, » POSTED IN:
