lost..need help choosing GTD software
hgupta | Jun 7 2006
I am very new to the GTD method (using it for about 4 days), and I am having trouble trying to determine the best software for me to use. I almost always have access to my computer, and I have terrible handwriting, so I would like to get it working the best I can. I tried outlook, but it seems clunky I started out using MLO, and although it is well designed and nice, it doesn't seem to work right all the time. (things don't always show up in the todo lists). Also, it seems odd that I should have to type "call spock about trebles " as an action in a project, and then also manually put it in the "@calls" list. I think that the @context lists should fill up by themselves. I do like the tree-branching setup of MLO. Are there other similar software? And what exactly does kinkless mean? I see that term a lot, but I don't have a mac to fully understand what that means. 3 Comments

I share the same dilemma with MLO. I'm using Treepad. It features a similar concept to MLO wherein you can create branching subtrees for projects and lists. But instead of having to manually enter an action again to my "next action" list, I just create a hyperlink which takes me to the node where i can tick off the checkbox of an action once it's done. You can also try Monkey GTD and GTD Tiddly Wiki Plus. I find these web apps very promising and loaded with features. The also solve the problem of creating an automatic entry to your other lists. You can choose to have an action appear in other lists, and they will be displayed in the dashboard or main page. When you tick off a completed action in the dashboard, the list entry where the action originated from automatically gets ticked off too. » POSTED IN:
