A 'Next actions' question -GTD newbie question

Hi all , Let's say that I have a project which is to mail some books to a friend of mine .So first I need to get her adress :this contains of an action of emailing her ,then waiting for her reply. What I can't figure out ,is whether I should have all those listed as next actions in their separate contexts ,for the same project ,at the same time -ort should I enter the first action,then complete it ,and only then add the next action to it's context? I mean ,in most cases there are numerous and dependent actions in a project ,which belong to different contexts,right? I'm using the "nextaction" tracking tool for managing my next actions,and there's no way of defining dependency there -but the mail question is ,how is this supposed to work,the real-GTD way? When you look at your list of @Errands for instance and you see drop off books at PO, you simply say, "Nope, not today. I still have to get $friend . "'s" address and box them up." and choose something else from the list that you can do. I was using Kinkless GTD which is from the site I linked to above but Emory converted me to a lofi hPDA solution and it is working great for me. I still use iCal and Address Book for their respective functions for the ease of use for sorting and editing, etc. But, for NAs and Project planning, I am drinking the lofi kool-aid. There are a lot of apps linked on the boards here and on the 43folders google group. Keep in mind, a lot of this is Mac specific, but a quick search should yield some Windows tools if that's your speed. » POSTED IN:
