I thought I would follow on from the "What are your contexts?" thread by asking everybody what their workspace looks like. By workspace I mean: where do you lay out your stuff before actually 'getting things done'? To kick off, this is what my table at home looks like when I set up to do some work: http://static.flickr.com/47/134965712_fd8183915f_m.jpg[/img"> 40 Comments

Here's mine! Not particularly GTD-ified; this was taken a few months ago before I got into the GTD thing. Since this was taken I've added a rack of quick-access folders for commonly-used things that were in my filing system and to conserve limited desk space I've attached things like pencil cups and paperclip cups to the side of the milkcrate shelves using flower wire. That way I always have them handy and they use no desk space. I've also added a rack of "cheat sheets" for commonly-needed information like coding syntax next to the Mini in plastic sheet protectors. GTD-wise I've also improved my filing system since then, gotten a labeler, and have begun to track projects and next actions in a 5x8" paper organizer. The worst thing about this setup is that there's just no room for writing. It's a home office in my bedroom (just a corner of the bedroom, really!) so space just doesn't allow it. I have to go sit at the dining room table or something if I want to write.
I love those whiteboards, nuttdan. When I move, hopefully my next setup will allow for some of them to be conveniently placed. » POSTED IN:
