Number of tasks..

When I read GTD, and read how many tasks David had on the go at any one time, I was surprised how many.....

Looking at the stats on my PDA this morning I have 180 tasks in my list. Which includes the 25 active projects I have on the go and about 20 things on the Someday list.

The thing I find is for project stuff, when I finish a task it gets replaced by the NA so it the number of tasks never really goes down.

I finish a few tasks each day, but add an equal or more number of tasks.

My list seems to be slowly creeping up over time. At the end of the first month I probably only had about 70 tasks on the list (including projects).

Hopefully, this is a side effect of being more efficient means I can take on more things. Lets hope it isn't a signal of my life spiraling out of control.

I have a hunch that it's you being more efficient.

I've noticed that as I've grown more efficient, I'm finding myself with more time doing nothing. So more than likely I'll end up creating more projects for myself. I'm starting to see that this is why some people do a whole lot more in their life than others: although we've all got the same 24 hours each day, some of us figure out how to use that time better than others.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
