”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

Someday/Maybe singletons?

What do you do with a simple idea that you want to do someday/maybe that is really a single action rather than a project? Do you create a S/M card/page for it? Do you have a master S/M list that you then have individual cards/pages with more detail? I thought of an idea for a blog article, but I certainly don't have time for it for at least another month. I suppose it could go on a "Blog Article Ideas" list, but what if it's a one of a kind S/M? Any ideas?

But does this also apply...

But does this also apply to things one wants to do but that are only one step? I don't want to make it a NA because, like I said, it's not going to happen in the next month, let alone the next week. A S/M project card for one item seems a bit like overkill. Or is the S/M card a place to jot down notes for the S/M item. So, for instance, my blog article would go on a S/M card and then I would bullet out the various points I wanted to include in the article. Does that sound right? Sounds good to me but I've been wrong before, that one time.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
