Anyone have a web based tickler file?
eggman2001 | Apr 21 2006
I currently have my tickler file on my desktop as just text files in a folder. However, does anyone know of any web services that would allow you to implement this on the web? I just sort of want what might look like a daily to-do list. However, all the to-do list programs I've seen don't have a day-to-day function. Thanks 10 Comments

Finally, at the moment I have nowhere to store little bits of electronic information. I'm a big fan of EverNote (www.evernote.com), which is a free (windows only) program that runs on a 'continuous note tape' paradigm. You could just keep pasting in trivia to notes and completely ignore it for now. But, if you wanted to get fancy, you can create categories (in a hierarchy), even automatic categories (say, based on keywords in a note). It's also got a category intersection panel that lets you find notes that are more than one category, for instance, @next actions having to do with your bank, or something like that. Finally, the search is extremely fast. One of the reasons I stick with EN all the time (instead of say, a completely text-based system) is that you can paste in images too. Oh, and one of the very coolest things is the fact that there's a web clipper (firefox and ie) that lets you copy a snippet of a web page and paste it into EN, which dutifully notes the URL where you got it. If you don't like EN, there are a whole host of other note-taking/keeping applications out there, everyone's got a favourite or two. On the Mac side, I keep hearing about the joys of DevonThink. » POSTED IN:
