Sometimes it's just a matter of rewriting the action to the appropriate audience as sabreuse says. For instance, I have "make a list of networking opportunities." But why haven't I started about this. As I think about it, I don't want to create a big fat list of people I'm never going to call in a million years. Such a list would sit on my desk and mock me for not having a real career or any real contacts in the industry. Maybe I should rewrite and say "make a list of people who would be fun to talk with."
