Filing without cabinets?
mcnicks | Apr 16 2006
Now that I have sorted out my filing and contexts at work, I am planning to do the same thing at home. My only problem is that I do not really have space for a filing cabinet. What I do have is a set of shelves, so I was pondering whether I could file stuff into a) box folders or b) transfer cases. Has anybody implemented a filing system without using a filing cabinet before? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thx, 8 Comments

You could still do it...Submitted by emory on April 16, 2006 - 7:42am.
You could still do it alphabetically. You could hack this to only take away from it the fact that you could file on a shelf with vertical folders. You could even apply drop-folder tabs to the outside of these so you can glance at them to see what they are. English isn't designed to be written/read vertically anyway. I was more interested in the physical method he was using than anything else. » POSTED IN:
