GTD, Hipster, and timers
S_G | Mar 14 2006
I am moving along in the GTD process. Last night I printed out my One-Up Hipster PDA directly onto the 3X5 cards using my cheap-o HP deskjet 5150. It worked great! The cards look terrific! I skipped the Covey pages... I also have been using the Minuteur timer recomended elsewhere. I have been using timers for ages, ever since I discovered Fly Lady. She recomends a variation on the 5x10 + 2 hack. . . Which is 15 minutes on task, times 3 and then a 15 minute break. One part of the flylady system that could be adapted for GTD is the 5 minute blitz. She calls them "Room resuces" but you could just take a 5 minute break and blitz through your in-box for example. Speaking of In Box...mine, since I have collected all my "stuff" is a bit overwhelming. I did do the weekend try to get through it all and still have a mountain to process. I realized that for me, filing is one of the things I absolutely HATE. Having cool tools makes it better...almost bearable...but I really need to trick myself into thinking that processing is Fun. Good Music might help...It sure helps with getting the dishes done! 5 Comments

I find five- or ten-minute...Submitted by sonia_simone on March 14, 2006 - 12:33pm.
I find five- or ten-minute blitzes very handy for processing my in boxes (physical & virtual). » POSTED IN:
