mindfulness, mental noting'

the last point in

is making *me* more aware of the importance of awareness or mindfulness. I've noticed "mindfulness" sneaking into Merlin's posts more and more.

An interesting idea: the zencast has been mentioned on 43Folders before. one interesting zencast about mindfulness is here:

it's called "mental noting" which is about the practice of assigning a word to each experience as it occurs, to keep the mind observant and (I'll say it) mindful. For people like me, for whom life is a constant war against the buzzing of bees in my head, it's been a useful practice.

Steak Sauce!

Duus...

Your concept is, well, awesome! As soon as I get off the computer (in about 10 minutes) I'm doing this for myself. That's been my problem with GTD: just to get started, you've got to psych yourself up and have the time and energy to begin such as daunting task. This, however, I can do [="Red"]NOW [/]and walk away feeling like I actually took a first step, rather than feel like I spend more time planning to act.

Give me a week or two to see how it goes and I'll certainly report back on my progress.

Regards,

Mike.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
