How to combine PROCESSING and DOING?
Marvin | Mar 12 2006
Hi, my work is most of the time at computer, and my InBox keeps receiving numerous e-mails as I am doing anything else. Many items from the InBox do require immediate attention and many are those 2-minutes stuff. But if I look at the new messages as they arrive, I end up on doing only that. On the other had, if I concentrane on doing smth from my next actions, InBox is getting bigger and bigger. And while many messages are important right now, many aren't and can wait. What is your experience? Thanks! 9 Comments

Andy is absolutely right. I found this out the hard way for myself with regard to my web design activities. Before, whenever I ran into a problem, I would post on a message board or something and then wait for an answer. I frequently got really impatient waiting. What I have learned to do is post and then work on another aspect of the code that I can do whilst I'm @waitingfor a response. So, if I'm not sure how exactly to parse that XML document in PHP (I've never had that problem; I swear.), I can post to a board or Google Group and then go work on CSS or make some layout sketches or work on the DHTML for toggling the two forms' visibility. You get the idea. Anyone under your direction should be able to work on something else while waiting on a response from you. » POSTED IN:
