New to GTD and wondering....
Metaphor | Mar 9 2006
Hi All, Ok so I am new to GTD but the more I read and the more I dabble the closer I am to realising this is something I really need to implement myself! Just as some background I am currently the Sales and Marketing Manager for an IT company here in the UK. It is a relatively new position (Nov 05) and I have made the move to IT from the Pharmaceutical Industry. It's a high pressure job and organisation is paramount. Frankly a written list of things to do on an A4 sheet just isn't cutting it for me! (I need to be organised to keep my motivation and productivity high) So far I have decided on a 'media' to use for my GTD and that is by way of the lovely gtdtiddlywikki (ok so its a little flakey on Safari but it does mean I can just use Firefox for just that and not clutter it with multiple tabs of web pages). My intial question is regarding the overall implementation of GTD and to see what you all thought. Should I use a seperate GTD list (ie seperate gtdwikki) for work and home life? I know I can have an @Work catagory on the 'list' but I just feel maybe my work/home stuff such as projects will get intertangled (made up work I think) and this could well detract from the whole GTD process. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated and I am sure this is just the first of many questions as I begin my GTD powered life!! Cheers Jon 3 Comments

My suggestion would be to start with work, since that's what's creating pressure right now, and get your systems working well. You'll learn pretty quickly whether or not your work GTD system is going to work well for home. If so, it's easy enough to add in the new context. » POSTED IN:
