"Perfect" iTunes equalizer setting

I noticed a lot of people are favoriting this screen grab of the "Perfect" iTunes equalizer setting (I posted it to Flickr, so I won't keep forgetting it when I need it). Ever since I saw this in that Mac OS X Hints article, I've used it as my default equalizer in iTunes -- it seems to give a nice pop to MP3 tracks in particular. HOWTO and specific settings from the original article:

I'll withstand from commenting on whether the settings are good or not -- as some rightfully point out, EQ settings are subjective by nature. I'd rather contribute with the advice a pro sound tech friend of mine gave me once: Reduce frequencies, don't boost them. Many, if not most sources today are at just-under-peak-level, so that when boosting the signal you risk distorting it. You achieve a better result when reducing the frequencies that are too dominating on your equipment, and increasing the output from your amp instead. My two cents. » POSTED IN:
