MacBreak Minute: LiteSwitch X
Merlin Mann | Jul 16 2007
In the latest episode of MacBreak Minutes (subscribe), I talked about a favorite PreferencePane of mine called LiteSwitch. LiteSwitch takes the basic app-switching functionality of OS X and adds some handy features, such as the ability to quit (or force-quit), relaunch, hide, reveal, Get Info, and more. Once you get used to this new power under your fingers, you'll never go back.

I must admit that as much as this LiteSwitch has some nice features- for me, this would be a slight waste of both system resources and money. To quote a friend of mine, "Resources aren´t exactly abundant on your average laptop, so if you are even hesitating to get something that is always on, you probably shouldn´t." I find that QuickSilver combined with the Activity Monitor or the processes plugin does the job just as good for me. You can mass-launch and mass-quit applications in QuickSilver using the comma trick. » POSTED IN:
