It seems to me Trev's ideas are a product of the first world. In wealthy countries it's easy to say that kids should be given the freedom to "find themselves", "grow up", and "fall in love". We have the privilege to postpone hard work. I'm not judging this idea, just observing. Lori says aptly that these things happen naturally for kids. What teenager needs to be purposefully given the freedom to fall in an out of love? If science happened naturally we wouldn't need to teach that either. Discipline, including time management discipline is underrated in this country as it's not seen as glamorous. Merlin's comment is honest and on the ball; there's a reason so many young (and not young) adults have the "why wasn't I taught this sooner" feeling when they are introduced to these ideas and this community. » POSTED IN:
