We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

I'll second GeekLady's gripe about Address Book requiring a year in the Birthday field. Not only is that just plain silly, but if you leave it blank, it inserts the current year, which is even more ludicrous. And related to this is the inability to set alarms for Birthdays in iCal. It's so unbelievably frustrating to carefully note someone's birthday and then not be able to set an alarm for it. Maybe it wouldn't be necessary if iCal itself didn't suck so badly, since I would be more inclined to USE the darn app more. I agree also about not being able to close a Spotlight window from the keyboard. Go Merlin. Make a list and send it to Apple! ;-) » POSTED IN:
