We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

I finally persuaded my Dad, 66, to switch from XP to the Mac based solely on the arguement that he wouldn't have to worry about grave security issues, inexplicable crashes and digging around under the hood to make things work. He could just sit back and enjoy his computer experience. Now I am constantly pestered with his remarks about how counter-intuitive the Mac is. He is generally very frustrated by OS X and confounded by the "lack of information provided" on how to use the Mac. Although I realize some of this is just Dad venting, I suppose my biggest beef is that Apple is pushing hard with the switch campaign, but what have they done to make long term M$ Windows users switch a less-painless experience? I myself have looked around and I must confess that I couldn't turn up much either. Switch Transition Management! » POSTED IN:
