Vox Pop: What's your "Mac Whine?"
Merlin Mann | Feb 28 2007
We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

iCal does not show Feb...Submitted by Stephen (not verified) on February 28, 2007 - 5:46pm.
iCal does not show Feb 29 birthdays (from Address Book) unless it is a leap year. * iCal takes too long to duplicate a To Do or an Event. * iCal should have recurring To Dos. * When changing the date of an event in iCal, it needs to move the event after I change each part of the date. So moving something from Dec 28 to Jan 11 has it jumping all over the calendar. * AddressBook needs a more sophisticated data model. I'd like to see Apple add locations so that the AB cards for family members could draw from a common home location. Similarly, locations should have phone numbers associated with them; people should have mobile numbers associated with them. Also, it would be nice to see better fields for businesses (especially hours of operation). * The locations feature in the network preference pane would be greatly improved if it coordinated with the sharing preferences. » POSTED IN:
