Surprised no one else has...Submitted by Tim Merritt (not verified) on June 8, 2006 - 10:26am.
Surprised no one else has argued against shaving after the shower. I learned that years ago, when a girlfriend bought me the badger brush, tub o' shaving soap, and more-expensive-than-cognac aftershave. The included "We have generations of experience, so do it our way" blurb in the package convinced me to try it, and it's great advice. Whatever you use to shave with, shower after - when you do get a cut or nick, it really sluices it out and it heals much more quickly. Open your pores after the shower. For the shave itself: a good lotion and warm water, worked into the beard, shave with a decent off-brand blade on a Sensor Excel handle, going with and against the grain. I do have to try the blade-in-the-alcohol between shaves idea, though. » POSTED IN:
