Some time ago I read "The Shaving Cream Racket" article by Jeffrey Tucker and I initially scoffed at it. "No shaving cream at all?! Thats just crazy, I'd bleed to death" After a few days of arguing against it in my own head I decided to get some evidence that what he was saying was bullshit and I tried it. I was immediately surprised. I did not bleed at all and I was left with a shave that seemed even closer than what I was used to when using a shaving cream/gel. The only problem was that I felt a little raw and rashy (if that is a word). But the time saved and the minimal discomfort told me to keep going with the practice. I have used water without shaving cream for about a month and a half now and I have no post-shave irritation whatsoever. The routine of shaving used to be somewhat of a burden that I avoided if possible (eg. not going anywhere). Now it is has become a quick and painless routine. My time in the bathroom in the morning has been cut considerably by shortening the time needed for a close shave down to about 2 minutes (probably less). I'm telling you kids, Hot water on the razor, lots of water on the face makes for happy cheeks. It sounds crazy but don't knock it till you've tried it. I mean really try it, as in more than once » POSTED IN:
