How do you get creative with your phonecam?
Merlin Mann | Sep 21 2005
Your mobile phone camera can be more than a fast way to send your kitty photos to Grandma Pearl. Like a lot of people, I use mine as a ubiquitous capture device, recording ephemeral information and visual documentation wherever and whenever it’s needed. I’m mostly curious to hear how other folks are using their phonecams (open comments below), but I’ll get the ball rolling with a few ideas, old and new:

I'm applying for a new job/promotion at work. The promotion will involve more than 30 weeks worth of intensive training before I am able to take up the new appointment. The wallpaper on my phone is currently a picture of the training facility taken from outside the main gates. This reminds me that the gates for me are currently closed - my focus at present should be on interview preparation, and my wallpaper resets my focus with every view. If/when I'm selected for training I'll take a fresh picture of the building taken from just inside the gates. I'll then take pictures a little closer with each passing week (progression towards my target etc). Eventually, on graduation, I'll take a picture standing inside the front door looking out - on the inside, trained, passed and ready for my first appointment. My wallpaper is a focusing tool - does that seem sad?! » POSTED IN:
