David Allen: Handy lists to maintain
Merlin Mann | Aug 14 2005
The David Allen Company [Cool/convenient lists to have] David Allen’s suggestions for lists that are handy to keep around. A few of my favorite ideas of his:
I have many of these myself and more (broken stuff, skills to learn, personal Oblique Strategies, etc.), all kept in plain text, natch, which makes it easy to quickly append to them with Quicksilver. I then sync all my text files to a thumbdrive every week or so. Provides a quick backup as well as a nice way to have emergency access when I’m away from my own computer. Cleaning out a closet, I...Submitted by Ed (not verified) on August 30, 2005 - 4:55am.
Cleaning out a closet, I happened to find an old card game (RACK-O). Inside the box I found four plastic card racks designed to hold the playing cards in a vertical position for easy viewing. Then the thunderbolt struck! I realized that I could stand these card racks on my desk, insert my various GTD index cards into the slots and have them "in my line of sight" while I am working. Having them in my field of vision, I have constant reminders about what I am waiting for ... priorities ... call backs ... whatever. Granted, this impacts the portatbility of the GTD cards, but when you know you're going to be chained to the desk for a period of time, this could be a good accessory! » POSTED IN:
