More Quicksilver Power Tips
Merlin Mann | Jun 15 2005
As long as we’re on a run with Quicksilver tips, here are a few of the ways that I use Quicksilver that include pieces of the program that many folks aren’t familiar with yet. Note that these are intermediate to advanced tips, so, again as ever, please look over the documentation (such as it is) and my setup guide—make sure you're using the latest version, read up on Quicksilver, load up on plugins (available via “Preferences > Plugins” in the Tiger version), and make sure you’re running in beta mode before asking for help.

Charles: You can replicate anything in "Triggers" that you can do in "regular" Quicksilver. It's just a way to make a custom command for any Quicksilver "sentence." After you go to "Preferences > Triggers" and click the "+" you can create whatever QS functionality you want, just like you were in the regular panes; when you're done, hit Save, then doubleclick the Key command column on the right and add whatever you like--that's a universal key binding that should work anywhere on the Mac. The triggers are really a very powerful and under-used piece of Quicksilver--but just wait til you see what's coming soon. Whole other level :) » POSTED IN:
