As Mr. Gruber mentioned yesterday, 2.0 (Tiger) versions of Safari have added the ability to These may not seem revolutionary on the face of it, but as someone who’s already committed them to Safari muscle memory, I can assure you they’re wildly useful. A few random examples.
I’m probably leaving off a lot of good ideas, but I do encourage you to give this new feature a try. Unlocking the form submission functionality changes so much about how I use several sites each day—especially as tabbed browsing gets more deeply ingrained in my basic web behavior. OT, but, this is why I got out of the implementation business and into the “business” business, Tom. I leave it to you smarter guys to make the pretty work to spec. :-) In any case, my point remains that a page in which most of the passionate functionality is accomplished through 40 or 50 separate Submit buttons makes for a very unpleasant experience to this user. I’m more a fan of sub-searches, click boxes, “select range” (as in fill between first and last selected boxes) and “Do <this> to the selection” style interfaces. I crave that everywhere. » POSTED IN:
