Naming project support files

Quick GTD bagatelle. I’ve started keeping all my one-page, per-project support files in the same folder as my GTD lists. I still use “@” as prefix for contextual lists, but now I use “&” to indicate a support file. E.g.
Makes for easier sorting, nice visual scanning, and the ability to quickly pluck out hot topics on either your horizontal or vertical radar screen. (Although I’m open to a nominee for a better symbol.) 10 Comments

I have always preferred to use the Macintosh extended character set for sorting. For example opt-* for a bullet, sorts to the top, and opt-z for an omega that sorts to the bottom. These and many other chars have more visual impact. Of course, if you need to be multi-platform, or use the Mac OS X Unix CLI to access these files, then you maybe better off with more standard sort characters. » POSTED IN:
