Apple - QuickTime - Macworld 2007 Keynote Wow. Everyone here in the MacBreak war room is still perspiring as we let it all sink in. OS X. On your phone. Damn. So what do you guys think about Steve's announcements? What surprised you? What else do you wish you'd heard? What do you think it will mean to have running OS X on your mobile phone? 56 Comments

WOW. I loved my Sidekick...Submitted by Lisa (not verified) on January 9, 2007 - 9:07pm.
WOW. I loved my Sidekick II - I liked the UI, browsing the web, getting my emails - until I saw the iphone. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking at their mobile phone and with something akin to disgust this morning! OS X on my mobile! The possibilities are incredible - we have such a library of great quality apps for the mac that could probably be transferred over without too much bother. For once I'm not too bothered to be in the UK and left behind a bit. The few extra months until release will give me a chance to save up the required £££ for the iPhone (as it will undoubtedly NOT be straight currency conversion) and will give Apple a chance to work out any bugs that may arise. I'm not complaining about the price though - it seems reasonable to me considering the features. I bought a sim-free mobile two years ago for about the same price as the lower end iPhone (happily, I might add) and it didn't have nearly the amount of features as this, not to mention the looks!! I'm a bit disappointed by the storage capacity it has as I was holding off on getting a new iPod to see if a new one would be announced (upgrading from a 1G Nano 4GB), but really, it wouldn't be the first time that Apple has announced a product and given it a storage upgrade before launch so I'm not too worried ;) I hope that some of the bells and whistles of the UI are going to be incorporated into Leopard - which looks now as thought it might be released right on top of, or just after, Vista. The new airport that wasn't announced looks good - and you can connect a USB 2.0 hard drive to it! Have been waiting for something like this for a while. Finally - I hope that the release of the Apple TV and the new iPhone will mean that the rest of the world is finally going to get CONTENT for the damn things! Come on TV and film for the iTunes Store!!! » POSTED IN:
