As an organization-holic, I am always looking for the perfect way to organize my data (web scripts, tech notes, writings, business notes, etc.). Have used many PIM tools over the years.
My current system has been putting data into EssentialPIM unless it's too large and then reference from a central folder. I'm still trying to use Outlook 2007 to try and sort through my tasks, as I don't always have EssentialPIM open.
EPIM is not perfect, but has more features than most PIMs out there.
Would like to be able to put stuff in sortable tables in the Notes section and to have wiki capabilities similar to the way Zulupad is, which EPIM doesn't at the moment. Zulupad is interesting, but way too limiting for my needs.
From a graphing standpoint, the Vorgspaces feature of VorgExpress is interesting (but again, way too limiting and future development is questionable).
To try and help keep focused where my stuff is, I have been using personalbrain (3.0 version) again to reference files/folders/videos/help files on my system and links to programs. So far, when trying to link an EPIM file I get an error message when trying to open from personalbrain. I've thought about using TiddlyWiki to add notes for files/folders I have linked in personalbrain, but alas it won't save in IE. There is also no easy way to link tasks in personalbrain from Outlook. Have heard that can do somewhat in the 4.0 version, so may be forced to go to if I stay with.
I've used mindmanager and other mind mapping programs before, but come back to personalbrain. It's interface appeals to your using it.
I'm basically looking for the perfect way to access my files/folders, tasks, and PIM from a one stop visual cloud like with personalbrain.
Anyone had experience with the above in organizing/linking and wanting to share tips?
